From the moment we arrived the service was friendly and helpful. There were ten in our group and we made a reservation earlier in the day. With only one French speaker in our group the staff were very patient with us translating the menu and explaining dishes. The menu had a great range of options with the Vegetarian and Vegan in the group well catered for. Portions were very generous and the food delicious. The decor reminded me of a trip to Marrakech a year ago. A gorgeous gem of a Restaurant within walking distance of the Palace.
This was a wonderful surprise. We thought we were going to "a little cozy place with local French food" as our travel agent's website described it, but it turned out to be Moraccan food! Who knew? But the owner and wait staff were wonderful and the food was delicious. Even the Moraccan wine (that I had never heard of) was good. But the whole night was great. It was a short walk from our hotel and very near the palace.
Louis XIV did the smart thing by building the palace just down the street from this outstanding Moroccan restaurant. Just a short walk from the stables, there are more yummy couscous, chicken and lamb dishes than you knew about. It was very reasonably priced, so unlikely to inspire any revolutions. Even the proletariat could afford a bite here.
