i’m usually not a big fan of fancy places, but this restaurant somehow makes you feel at home, 3 floors, warm atmosphere, incredibly attentive service without being too much we took the 4-course menu just so we could finish with the cheese selection! they bring the whole cart to your table and you choose whatever you want also, details matter to me a lot, and they serve wine in zalto glasses, which says everything went there for lunch and loved how the food feels like a mix of italian and french cuisine with unexpected little latin american notes throughout the menu at some point they overheard us talking about how meat always tastes better on the bone, and they actually brought the lamb on the bone for us even though it normally isn’t served that way on the menu that level of attention honestly made the whole experience feel incredibly personal definitely one of those places you remember for life and instantly know you’ll come back to!
La clarence is perhaps one of the most elegant restaurants I have visited anywhere. The food and the service are exceptional. But what makes the experience extraordinary is the space - the comfort - and yes, the wines. We enjoyed an exceptional lunch, and a great bottle of wine. And then our enthusiasm led us to the cave, which if you are looking for a great bottle (or bottles) of wine, is a must.
I was thoroughly enthralled and wishfully captivated dining at Le Clarence in the grandiose city of Paris. It was like the forces of the Seine and Napoleon had aggregated and took me on a journey of resplendent and superbly to eat some of the finest cuisine in the world, the waters magically watering my palette and the brevity of a leaders battle plan satisfying my every hoping hunger pain. I entered into the architecture that jaunted and rolled my eyes with visions of beauty and artful frameworks. We were welcomed by a very kind and emphatic staff who asked us about our day in the iconic city and any important events occurring in the area. We were seated and poured water in tall goblets and asked if we preferred a hot towel to wipe our hands from the pains that may have edged up during any weary travel. With a wine list that was longer than any grapevine or stretched vineyard row, we picked a few and were given a taste before we chose a good Pino or Cab. Several waiters brought the bottles to the table and after we sipped on a few, they comfortably poured the enticing liquid into our waiting glasses. After some light conversation and gazing at the inside surroundings, which were spellbinding, we selected a 6-course meal. With a nicely refilled glass of our wine, we watched as the staff circled like the horses of yore had paraded the city, and brought each course to the table with exact precision and somehow knew when we had finished the previous course, almost like the rungs of the Eiffel Tower had been sent as part of our love for the sublime cuisines. After enjoying and spooning the last chocolate dessert, the server brought the bill and using the newest technology to wind through the steps to pay, we completed the transaction with an over the top satisfaction, making our night almost complete. In almost like a dream, our stomachs were soothed with the finest wine and food, so our shoes floated out through the exit and back onto the streets of Paris. As the clouds tried to grab a moon sliver and we strolled in the history of the lionized city, I just wanted to thank the staff at Le Clarence for a wonderful and breathtaking night at their remarkable establishment.
We chose the 4 courses dinner and opted out the truffle because we have smaller appetite and never be a fan of truffle. Sea food was amazing, flavor was surprising and well balanced. One of the course is very infused with Japanese cuisine elements and we absolutely love it. For a Michelin 2 stars restaurant though, I would expect the service at a higher standard - although the sommelier acknowledged their mistake later and the classic pairing is great, they never presented the wine list nor introduced the wine pairing options.
Le Clarence gave us a night to remember. Real candle-lit glow, exquisite flavours in every dish, and service that was both refined and genuinely friendly. A special shoutout to Monsieur Roberto, who made the special night a little bit more memorable!
