We had a very nice dinner, the burrata, the octopus and the beef tartare and we enjoyed it. The service was attentive, the view of the museum is a nice plus!
Today I went to the Le Marais for shopping. I looked for a restaurant nearby for a nice French cuisine. There are some good reviews so I would like to try and it’s definitely a good choice. solo friendly, you won’t feel odd being alone The waiter is so friendly , though the menu is all in French he explained patiently maybe a little bit accent I can’t quite get it but still I can feel that he patiently explain everything. I had the tomato watermelon soup as starter, it’s so refreshing under this heat wave A white fish with a creamy sauce which I don’t know what it is actually, this dish came with two sides a beetroot and sliced cucumber. The fish is cooked so great it isn’t too raw or too well-done. The fillet is so juicy. For the dessert I took the mile feuille It’s just so so as the strawberry cream is too sweet. I finished the meal with a coffee and that’s it. Please come and try.
Lunch at Glou. A set menu. I was looking forward to it. The starter was coques, simply done with butter and herbs. Fresh, clean, uncomplicated. Good start. Then came the magret de canard. Carrot and parsnip on the side, a generous sauce around it. The vegetables were cooked beautifully. The sauce was excellent. I had high hopes. Then I got into the duck. The outside had a good crust. But inside, it was raw. Not pink, not rosé. Raw. Chewy in a way that made me work for every bite. I kept going, thinking maybe the next piece would be different. It wasn't. Duck breast can be served medium-rare. That I understand and enjoy. But this crossed a line. It was hard to eat and even harder to digest afterwards. The carrot, parsnip, and that sauce became the star. A shame, because everything around it was genuinely good. Nice little bistro too. The kitchen clearly knows how to cook. Not sure why they rushed the duck. There were only 4 tables occupied at that point of time, including mine. 😕
Definitely a good experience! We went for dinner and got some entries, our favorite was the grillled scallops. The waiter was also kind enough to recommend some wine to go with our food. The place gets busy so reserve in advance and have a little patience. I believe they change the menu often so I will definitely Come back and try new things with them! I would also recommend going with more than 2 people so you can share and try as much as you can :)
