Cozy, rustic, and classic with an urban twist. This 400+ year old building is nestled in the heart of Paris and has all the quirks and comforts of a city hotel. Everything we wanted was within walking distance and it was a great base for our hop on hop off tours. Each themed room had classial painting prints on the walls, the floors had cobblestone patterned carpets and even the faucets had knots from the 1920's. Everywhere you went there was a breathtaking view of Paris, and of course, Notre Dame. We paid for a cathedral view and was not disappointed!! Wow! The continental breakfast of pastries (croissants), tea and coffee were straight out of a travel brochure, and the staff were the heroes of our entire experience. Friendly to foreigners with patience for English speaking guests. Courteous and always smiling. Staffed 24hrs a day. The only downside (if I had to say anything) was the ongoing traffic noise and sirens from the proximity to downtown. We understood this going in and the windows do a fair job of muting most of it. Also, the walls are thin so we could hear movements in the other rooms and downstairs. Nothing so bad it would take off a star, just a polite heads up to future guests so you can manage expectations.

The hotel has a very convenient location, with both Metro and RER stations nearby, making it easy to get around Paris. The staff members were also very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. However, there are several practical issues worth noting. The reception is located on the first floor, and there is no elevator from the ground floor to reach it, only stairs. This could be inconvenient if you are traveling with large luggage or require accessible access. In our case, the bathroom was a major drawback. Our toilet does NOT have a DOOR, and the chain door lock on the main door was also broken. I’m not sure if this applies to all rooms, but it genuinely affected our experience. Another point to be aware of is that you are required to leave your room key at reception whenever you leave the hotel. Overall, while the location and staff are definite positives, the room design and accessibility issues may not suit all travelers.

We had a fantastic stay here and would happily return. The location really couldn’t be better — right beside Notre Dame Cathedral and in the heart of the Latin Quarter, which made exploring Paris on foot incredibly easy and enjoyable. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made the stay feel relaxed and personal rather than transactional. A lovely bonus is the beautiful café next door. My wife is coeliac, and we were delighted to find a great range of gluten-free pastries available — something that can be surprisingly hard to come by when travelling. It made our mornings that much better. Overall, a great place to stay with a brilliant location, warm hospitality, and thoughtful touches. We would absolutely stay here again.
