If you are looking for an incredible craft cocktail in a laid-back, welcoming neighborhood atmosphere, La Resistance is an absolute must-visit. The highlight of the evening was Alexis behind the bar. He is an outstanding bartender who pairs phenomenal contemporary mixology skills with a deep, genuine appreciation for classic and vintage cocktails. He was able to read my palate right from the start, flawlessly tailoring the drinks to exactly what I was in the mood for. Alexis turned a simple evening out into an unforgettable journey through flavors and spirits. The hospitality here is top-tier, the drinks are precise and masterfully balanced, and the vibe is perfect. I highly recommend La Resistance and cannot wait to go back!
This was an accidental encounter that I'll never forget. I was just on my way to a fast food restaurant to use the bathroom, but didn't think I would make it. As it started to rain, there I stood in front of LA Resistance. The choice was to keep going to try to make it to my intended destination or use the restroom in this corner bar... When I walked in, Alex was happy to greet me. He said I could sit anywhere and promptly brought me a glass of ice water with a lemon slice in it. I was only there to use the bathroom, but knew I had to do the polite thing and order a drink... "I'll have a Bordeaux," I said. To which, Alex responded, "We don't have that, but here is our menu, " as he places a drink and food menu, in English, in my hand. "If you don't see it in there, we can make it. Just let me know. " Again, I'm only here to use the bathroom, but what a nice guy and great atmosphere this little corner bar is. So, I found most expensive drink on the menu - a SCUSI. "Great choice. It's really refreshing" Alex says before confirming to me that the WC is in the basement. WOW! I've traveled all around the world and haven't had the opportunity to taste many things better than this exceptionally excellent combination elements that turned Gin into something heavenly. My wife and I were warmly welcomed by Alexis and Marine. Alexis' skills as a mixologist are formidable. We very much enjoyed the Paper Plane and a Last Word cocktails that he crafted for us. The space itself is very intimate and chic with stone walls and comfortable cushioned seats. We hope to go back again during this trip and we highly recommend La Resistance.
La Resistance is way cooler than we are! Great atmosphere and the bartender absolutely nailed a perfect Vieux Carre.
