This is a stunning tour where we run along the Seine banks among historic buildings, monuments and gardens in the heart of Paris. Long before it was a museum of art, the spectacular Louvre was a Royal Palace, constantly growing in size under a succession of French Kings. As the running tour continues runners will instantly see the exuberant Grand Palais with its surprising glass dome, which was created for the Universal Exhibition of 1900. Crossing the Seine runners are greeted by the most iconic building in Paris and the city’s defining symbol – The Eiffel Tower. The sheer size and beautiful surrounding call for a stop to hear about the history of the tower from 1889 and of course snap a picture or two.
