Description

Your hosts French chef Nil & American artist Celia Marie (the real-life Emily & Gabriel?) are both seasoned guides on other Paris Food Tours. They fell in love on a Get Your Guide experience (it's true!) and want to share the magic with you too! We will meet on the sidewalk in front of the shop 'La Cave des Buttes'. Here we will greet you and give a brief introduction. Next we will recount the history and legends of Buttes-Chaumont throughout a 15 minute walk towards our favorite picnic spot in the heart of this historical park. We will help you set up your picturesque picnic here! A scenic view, vintage picnic basket, a checkered blanket, and an assortment of local artisan products carefully curated by Chef Nil [including a selection of meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, bread, pastries, flowers, & more!] Your host will give you a menu painted by Celia Marie (which is yours to keep!) and an in depth explanation of the unique & mouth watering products spilling out of your basket. We will also provide a speaker connected to our very own “Parisian Picnic Playlist” and snap a Polaroid of your experience for you to put in your scrapbook. Once you are comfortable we will leave you to enjoy the remainder of the picnic in private, and return to pack up for you! Then we'll guide you back through the park and send you off with our list of favorite Parisian recommendations! Your hosts: Celia Marie is an American artist & musician who has lived in Paris for 9 years and counting. She has a Master’s Degree from the Sorbonne University, published books of her Parisian art, and sings in a French rock band. Her numerous interests give her a unique perspective on what it means to be a tourist in Paris. Having grown up in a farm in Normandy, Nil developed an appetite very young for amazing food. After studying international business he finally decided to follow his true passion of food and got a cooking degree instead. He has worked as a chef in multiple Parisian bistros. He was so passionate about his work that the also began a Master degree in Geography of food and food cultures. He is thrilled to share all his passion for the French « art de vivre » with you.
