Description

This Travel Sketchbook art class is perfect if you begin, or if you would like to improve on composition, perspective, figure drawing techniques. The plein air art class in Paris is complementary to the studio sessions (Watercolor Sketching Classes take place at the Studio on Tuesdays, 2:30PM-4:30PM). This Travel Sketchbook art class is in a group of 3 to 6 persons. It is taught in French and English, and takes place in a different Paris neighborhood each week. It is possible to join just one class, or several times. Upon booking, you will receive a booking confirmation. A few days before the workshop, you will receive an email with the meeting point. Make sure to note Pauline’s phone number, in case you were running late. The meeting point is at 9:30AM at a cafe. We start drawing at the cafe, then leave to draw around the neighborhood (and/or at a cafe in case of cold weather!). Plan a cafe budget, and the cost of museum tickets, in case of indoor drawing sessions. The supplies you will need for your plein air art class in Paris are the following: - Paper sketchbook (A4/standard photocopy size recommended), watercolor box, small water jar with lid, watercolor paint brush, rag or kitchen paper, pencil(s), pencil-sharpener, water-resistant black pen (ex: Pigma Micron pen). - Optional: nib holder, nib and India ink; felt pens; color pencils; glue stick. - Think of sunglasses, hats, sunscreen! Warm clothes in the winter. Comfortable walking shoes, water bottle. NB: You can buy art supplies from the “Gifts & Goodies” section of Pauline's Website. Children and teenagers under 18 years old can join this plein air art class in Paris, provided an accompanying adult joins as well. • Make sure to bring your art supplies ! Art supplies can be very simple (paper, pencil, color pencils...) or more sophisticated (watercolor, watercolor brush, water jar, rag or paper towels... waterproof drawing pen...). It is possible to buy art supplies from the “Gifts & Goodies” section of Pauline's Website, up to 5 working days before class. There is otherwise a list of art supplies stores in Paris available in the FAQs on Pauline's website. This tour implies some walking, and sitting on benches, on the floor or standing. Plan a cafe budget, and the cost of museum tickets, in case of indoor drawing sessions.
