Really well done boutique hotel and Concierge staff is great. No water station but they do provide a large bottle daily in the fridge. Patio area for smoking and open all hours. Good area and right next to M9.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was quiet, clean, and perfectly located to everything we wanted to do. The included breakfast each morning was excellent. We also enjoyed some of the great restaurants within easy walking distance.
I stayed on the 6th floor, and unfortunately my experience wasn't great. The room didn't seem to have been cleaned thoroughly by housekeeping. It was a bit dirty and had an unpleasant smell when I arrived, which made the stay less comfortable. The breakfast itself was actually good, with a nice variety of food and everything I tried tasted good. However, the older gentleman who seemed to be managing and serving the breakfast area came across as rude and wasn't very welcoming, which took away from what could have been a pleasant experience. The only real positive was the location, which was very convenient and made it easy to get around. Aside from that, I expected better cleanliness and service for the price.
We recently stayed a total of 7 nights on either end of a 2-week trip to France. We are frequent guests at a sister property, the Splendid Etoile, and because the Splendid was closed for renovations we chose to try the Rochester. The hotel was clean, and in a decent location close to the Champs Élysées. We booked one of their suites, which was spacious and well-appointed. There are really no views to speak of from any of the rooms. This place is one of the hotels used by Viking Cruises for their pre and post cruise extensions, and there were Viking groups coming in and out regularly. The staff was uniformly friendly and professional, especially the young men greeting arriving guests and helping with luggage. My wife has been learning to speak French, and enjoyed conversing with a number of staff members who were happy to help her work on her language skills. In particular Mamadou (sp?) who I believe is a part of the housekeeping team, was especially pleasant with her. I thought the breakfast buffet was mediocre and somewhat overpriced. It’s a busy hotel and the breakfast staff had some difficulty keeping the food items stocked and the coffee refilled in a timely manner. I would probably advise going to one of the local cafes for breakfast instead. All told, not a bad choice if you’re visiting Paris. We would possibly stay here again if the Splendid Etoile was unavailable.
Charlie and I stayed here and it was genuinely stunning. First of all — the bed. I don’t say this lightly — it was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever slept in. After long days walking around Paris (and standing out in the cold for New Year’s Eve), climbing into that bed felt like heaven. Properly cosy, soft, and warm. The spa was such a bonus. Having somewhere to unwind after busy sightseeing days made the whole stay feel a bit luxurious without being over the top. It’s calm, clean and a lovely way to reset before heading back out into the city. And the location is unbeatable. You’re just off the Champs-Élysées, so everything feels right there — shops, restaurants, Metro stations, and easy walking distance to so many major sights. It made the whole trip effortless. Waking up in central Paris on New Year’s Day with my son, stepping out into those beautiful streets… it was one of those trips you don’t forget. Comfort, location, atmosphere — it ticked all the boxes for us.
