A real gem that we highly recommend. Just a 9 minute walk from Place Bastille along Rue Beaumarchais with its numerous neighborhood cafes and restaurants ranging from simple to quite elegant, it is perfect for someone wanting to enjoy a Parisian's Paris. Watching world soccer at the cafes was a hoot! The websites photos accurately show its understated elegance and superb breakfast menu but not its quiet peacefulness, wonderfully friendly and helpful staff (always discreetly nearby) or its American style air-conditioning so necessary during Paris' hot months. Our room was always about 74oF during our stay with daytime highs of 97, 96 and 98oF.
My teen daughter and I had an amazing experience at this hotel. The hotel was tucked in the corner of a side street off of Bd Beaumarchais, so it is a quiet and not busy hotel front. It is walking distance to many shops and restaurants. It's between too RATP metro stops and by one bus stop so public transportation was very convenient to get around Paris. The hotel is clean and very nicely decorated like a French boutique hotel. Very nice touches. The staff were all friendly and helpful. 6 stars for hospitality. Breakfast was a nice European buffet that I thought was well worth the price. I was unsure of the hotel when I randomly picked it but am so glad. I will definitely stay here again.
We had an overall lovely experience at Villa Beaumarchais for 8 nights. The hotel is charming, the staff is friendly and helpful and the location is great. Two things that could have made our stay even better - 1) A more comfortable bed - the one we slept in was as hard as a rock; 2) The hotel advertises that it has A/C, but they had not (and would not) turn the system on while we were there. We had to sleep with windows open every night because the room was too warm and stagnant with no moving air.
The location is fantastic to stroll around marais and get around through the rest of the city. The service was consistently (on WhatsApp, in person) excellent and timely- particularly from Praveen who went above and beyond. My one point would be the beds and pillows are a little uncomfortable but you adjust- no sleepless nights. We would definitely stay here again.
