Let me preface this by saying I would come here again given the opportunity. I thought the menu was inventive and the service and atmosphere - though minimal - made me feel welcome. Because my French had grown very rusty over the years, I was grateful to have a server who spoke decent English. Because the entree side of the menu felt a lot more exciting than the mains, I chose to go with two entrees and a bowl of whelks. Because where else are you going to get whelks at a restaurant!? My entrees were the heirloom tomatoes with anchovies and the crab "ravioli" with courgette. My whelks came with a sauce on the side, which I am assuming was meant to be mayonnaise (or perhaps aioli). Out of the three, the tomatoes were my favourite. The tomatoes themselves were lovely and they were swimming in a nicely tangy olive oil based sauce. My only issue with this dish was the anchovies. I like an anchovy but for the first time in my life I felt I had *too many* anchovies. There were heaps on each tomato slice! And they did unfortunately overpower the dish slightly. At the same time they probably added a much needed savoriness to the sauce but I would have reduced the amount of anchovies served. A "raviolo" was actually a scoop of crab meat draped over by a thin slice of courgette with some sweet fruit (I think apples) on the side. Overall, not a bad dish, but I did not like the seasoning on the crab meat. Good crab meat tastes slightly sweet but this was pretty bland, and therefore the entire dish was a bit bland. I got the texture of crab meat without the flavour. The whelks were prepared well and had a subtle taste, so good quality produce handled well! My biggest issue with the whelks, and indeed the entire evening, was the sauce on the side. I don't know if it was supposed to be a mayonnaise or an aioli, but it sorely lacked in salt and acid. It tasted like I was dipping my whelks into whipped egg yolk - very rich, slightly bitter, but nothing to elevate the dish with. I don't know if they missed out on the lemon juice, the salt or the dijon, but whatever their recipe is, it definitely needs a salty acidic element. In the end I mixed some of the anchovy sauce with the whelk sauce and that improved it significantly. For dessert I had a rum baba and I couldn't really fault it. Maybe would have liked to taste more rum in the dish but honestly that's nit picking. This is clearly a very popular restaurant. It filled up by around 8 PM and had a lovely buzz to it. And, as stated, the service was very accommodating. So don't hesitate to give it a go. Maybe they just had a bad night with me. There is definitely a lot of potential on the menu.

Fabulous food in a local restaurant setting. I had octopus appetizer and salmon entree, both were incredible! The flavor combinations and execution were tremendous. The sauces were light and fresh. This restaurant exceeded my expectations. I focus on experience and quality. This place was top quality food, relaxed experience for a very fair price. If you are on a budget, this is close to gourmet at bistro pricing.

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Paris. I have visited at least five times and am always blown away by the craftsmanship in each bite. I also love the owner, She has warmed my heart the way She remembers me and makes me feel at home. Bravo

The entree of the day was a fish soup which was the best we had ever had! And the fish of the day (redfish) was so delicious and paired with a great mashed sweet potato. Also amazing mussels that you can have prepared a couple of different ways - so amazing! Loved everything about the food and this restaurant!
