A cheap hotel convenient for the Louvre and Musee D'Orsay art galleries. There is no air-conditioning so not great in the summer. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.
I was very impressed by The Walled Off Hotel Paris when I booked and even happier when I arrived. The location is perfect, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the ensuite rooms are very comfortable after a long day and the general atmosphere of the hotel is very welcoming. Highly recommended for a city break or any longer stays in Paris!
This hotel had the best location ever. Not only great for breakfast options right by the hotel, but also bar and dinner options!!! The service was exceptional and always there to help out (+ a 24/7 reception). Of course the rooms itself are a little older and smaller, but this was to be expected and totally okay.
The bed was warm and the room was clean. Location in Paris was fantastic for a weekend getaway. Unfortunately, 2/3 days we had no hot water. We had no hot water upon arrival and we were not notified. When we called the front desk they said a technician was coming in the morning to fix it. Ok 1 day of no hot water won't kill us. However, upon returning that night, we asked if they were able to fix it. The response was "we don't know, it's complicated". No hot water again. We complained upon checkout and received an email that said "note that we upgraded your room" (news to us, would have rather had a smaller bed than no hot water-ended up in a superior room) "enjoy 50% off your next stay" (No, we will not be back again chancing whether or not your water works). Please note the outlets for the bathroom are also non existent or placed on the outside. If you want to, i don't know, curl your hair, good luck as there is also no mirror outside the bathroom.(Where the plugs are)
The location is absolutely unbeatable, it’s only 10 minutes walk to Galeries Lafayette and 30 min walk to the Louvre. Le Peletier station is just around the corner, making it very well connected with the city, there were also nice cafe and restaurants around. The staff was incredibly helpful!! I dropped my ring down the sink drain and they called me a couple of days after I left to say they found it and messaged me instructions on how to get it back. Room was not huge but very much enough for a solo traveler. Having a sink in the room came in quite handy as some rooms share bathroom and toilet. Also the view was great, felt in a Parisian movie:) The bathroom and toilet was always clean, even though it was shared with the floor. I almost never had to queue, might be intimidating at first but not a big deal at all. The only tip I could give for the new guests here is make sure to bring earplugs as the walls seems to be on the thin side, so I had some sleepless nights because of my neighbors. Flip flops are also a good idea if you’re sharing bathroom:)
