This is the cafe where Amélie worked in the movie Amélie. They have a large picture of her as well as original artwork on the way to the bathroom. They even have a gnome they will let you take a photo with! We got coffee with milk and crème brûlée. Wait staff was great and the food was delicious.
We purposely visited this restaurant early morning of Friday, 05/15/26 because of the movie Amelie. The Lead bartender/server's attention was the epitome of excellent service! Deshawn (unsure of spelling and he mentioned he is from Sri Lanka (I hope this is ok to mention)) was so attentive and made us feel very special during our breakfast. Our meal was delicious and our cappuccinos were Perfetto! Deshawn took our pictures by the Amelie movie poster and we insisted on taking a picture with Deshawn as a reminder of this wonderful experience! Thank you, Deshawn!
I watched more than 1000 films and as a certified Amelie enjoyer I tell you, that this place is not only iconic for the Paris, France, but for the whole world of cinema as a whole. Waiters were delivering their best, most attentive performance I've ever seen and I would like to say special thanks to Mouss who signed our postcards. I love this place and will definitely visit another time.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I was a bit skeptical at first because of how touristy the area is and also because of the hype around Amélie. I’m usually very critical with my reviews, and it’s rare for a restaurant to get every detail right, but this place really impressed me. We ordered the entrecôte au poivre and the boeuf bourguignon. The meat in both dishes was tender and cooked perfectly. The pepper sauce was outstanding, and the bourguignon sauce had the wine beautifully present with exactly the right texture. The fries were excellent, the mashed potatoes were perfect, and even the salad was fresh and crispy. This was one of those meals that genuinely makes you happy.
What a beautiful authentic experience. This is not just the famous venue featured in the 90’s movie “Le destin extraordinaire de Amélie Poulain » but a solid good restaurant. We went for lunch on a beautiful sunny warm spring day this March. Had the croc madame and hamburgers. Everything was delicious. They have a Linux’s selection of wines by the glass. The dessert famous crème brûlé (Amelie’s favorite) was very good. The four of us shared one but you can definitely do one by person as it is so good. Tip for the visitor of Montmartre - go see the Basilica Sacre Cœur in the morning, stroll through Place de Tartre on your way to this beautiful restaurant. Moulin Rouge is two minutes away - you can take pictures in the front.
