The best restaurant in Paris, without exaggeration. The service is excellent; all the staff are incredibly friendly, professional, and passionate. The food is incomparable; every dish is a masterpiece. The chicken is the star of the menu, although they explained that they have a limited daily supply. I went to celebrate my birthday, and they had the wonderful gesture of sharing their collaboration with Xerjoff during one of the courses—the best birthday present. It's a must-visit on every trip to Paris, and I will definitely return. The best 3-Michelin-starred restaurant in Paris.

Alleno Paris ** / ***** It’s difficult to review a restaurant that technically has nothing particularly wrong with it. Alleno is, in fact, technically meticulous yet fails to manufacture the magical, memorable evening that great dinners create. A large part of this comes down to the weight of expectation. For example, my expectations for a $45 bottle of wine I chose somewhat at random are completely different from a $450 bottle of grand cru from a lauded house, and I judge accordingly. Because Alleno comes with a hefty (to me), €450 price tag (non-refundable, payable in advance before even sniffing some food) before wine and supplements, plus being awarded the rare, coveted, and increasingly random-seeming three Michelin stars, I think it’s fair to say that if this restaurant fails to meet even very high expectations, it’s accordingly a failure. We dined at Pavyllon last year and had an incredible dinner, full of exciting dishes, warm service, and great wine. It was expensive but it felt earned. Every dish was a banger, many of which I still think about many months on. Because this restaurant with one Michelin star has the same chef and is in the same building, my expectations going into Alleno were high but achievable. If it had been as good as Pavyllon, we would have been happy. Sadly it was not. To start with the good: our sommelier was legitimately excellent. An attentive listener, charming and warm, and great at his job. He never overwhelmed with too many options and provided multiple price points. The wine was uniformly excellent. He has a true rapport with customers (we actually realized he was our somm at Pavyllon the previous year, which explained a lot). The signature vegetable dish, prominently featured in many instagram stories, is also wonderful: balanced, complex, and surprising. A really remarkable dish. Lastly, one of our party was unable to attend dinner due to illness and the cost of his dinner was credited against the balance of wine and supplements. This was not expected but appreciated. The OK: the sturgeon caviar supplement was tasty and technically impressive. At €90 it strains credulity of value. The rest: what to say? Service was proficient but impersonal. The worst sort of theatrical Michelin hovering (rushing ahead of me to pull out my chair every time I used the bathroom) but without much interest in understanding out party or our tastes. Pacing was all over the place — a large gap between sitting and seeing a wine list or our “customized” menu (though the level of customization given the very brief phone call we had is dubious). The first few dishes came slowly, followed by an unstoppable onslaught with barely a pause to recover between courses. The fish course which, two days later, I’ve basically forgotten was objectively tough and overcooked. Same with the chicken. Flavor profiles were extremely similar course to course and mostly forgettable. The quince dessert was almost inedibly tart — a complete miss. Truffle was nonsensically deployed, multiple times. I love restaurants and haute cuisine, so a dinner like this pains me. If a restaurant sells a dream and a promise of a spectacular dinner it’s acceptable to miss a few times when the financial damage is low. Unfortunately disappointment after a €3000 evening is tough to swallow.

First of all, the service was very good. The staffs were well-trained. I like their menu customization and them calling us several says before our visit to discuss our options. As for the food, their wagyu steak is one of the best steak in my life. I don’t really have to use knife to cut it. It was so soft and tender. The desserts were really impressive as well. Really worth coming back again.

We were looking forward to having dinner here as our best meal for the trip. Before arriving here, I knew that menu can be curated/preselected based on my preference. However, I did not receive any emails or phone call. So, I did not get to select my food. They contacted via sms, which is partly my fault that I dod not notice it. Beautiful restaurant with very attentive service. Most of the dishes are really delicious. However, for this price, I expected many dishes with premium ingredients. However our courses are as followed below 1. Vegetables; which I accept since it showed superb cooking technique and was very delicious 2. Mushroom 3. Scallop with uni and foiegras; this one was really good. 4. Duck Then, 2 desserts and petit four. Which I found disappointing, since with this price I expected more. Tea and selection of cheese are offered, which was not written on the menu. With this level of restaurant and service, most would assumed it was included since it was not stated clearly by the waiter or in the menu. I got really upset having to pay 48 (if i remember correctly for the tea, which I did not enjoy). I got upset by this most. My friends also did not prefer to eat cheese, but thought it was included. To be fair, it should be clearly stated.

My husband was really looking forward to dinner at Alleno and to say we were disappointed is an understatement. We previously dined at Pavyllon and had an amazing experience (service and food were excellent) so this was very surprising. To be fair there were some great dishes, and the ambience was beautiful, but for a 3 star we expected better. Firstly, we ordered the non alcoholic beverage pairing, and it was awful. For many of the dishes we felt the pairing didn't go well at all, and ruined the experience. Too much celeriac was being used and was overpowering every drink. After several bad drinks with celeriac, we kindly told our server we did not like the celeriac taste and that it was over powering, but he did not care and served another two drinks with celeriac! The last drink with dessert was actually delicious - it was poured over almonds in a clear teapot and sat for a while on our table so we were excited to try it. Unfortunately we ended up just getting a very small portion of it and the rest they took away, we would've appreciated being poured more as it just went to waste. As for the food, some dishes were great including a very beautiful and memorable vegetable dish, but some were just okay. There was a dish using tomatoes and mochi and they brought the tomatoes they used to the table- the raw tomatoes were delicious, but it was funny that they tasted better than the dish they were used in. We also ordered a cheese course, which we should not have done just because we felt so full but wanted to try it. We were hoping to take what we couldn't finish of the cheese home (we only asked this because when we dined at Restaurant le Meurice Alain Ducasse they offered to pack our cheese without us asking), but we were refused. I understand there may be a cultural difference in which asking for the cheese packed is odd, but the way in which we were responded to was very rude and uncalled for. I guess the worst part of this restaurant is the service. If the feedback about our drinks was taken into account (as would have any other 2 or 3 star restaurant we have been to would have done), and the wait staff more attentive and kind, we would've had a much better experience and I would have given 4 stars out of 5.
