We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Littéraire Marcel Aymé. We stayed in a double superior room, so we had a bit more space, which was nice. We loved the small terrasse and the beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower was such a great surprise! The air conditioning works very well and the bed is comfortable. The only detractor of the room was that the shower door leaked quite a bit of water from the bottom corner near the hinge, no matter how well we tried to seal it or aim the water away. Not a big deal since we could change the towels each day, just a bit frustrating on the first evening! The hotel is really well located in a fun neighborhood. It was a steep walk up from the metro with the suitcases, but we really enjoyed walking around the area.
It is a lovely hotel in the heart of Montmartre, with plenty of shops and restaurants plus the Métro station just a short walk away. The staff was wonderful (and all spoke English) and very helpful with suggestions and directions, ordering taxis and more. While our room was very small, it was comfortable and surprisingly quiet, in spite of being at street level. And the breakfast "buffet" was amazing, with so many choices, including homemade yogurt and breads. If I ever make it back to Paris, I will definitely stay there agin.
Rooms are small, even when upgrading to ‘superior’. Not unusual for Paris, but still just too small. We had a baby and the superior room didn’t have room for a travel cot. The toilet room was especially tiny. Still, the rooms were clean, nicely decorated and the bed comfortable. Excellent air conditioning which kept us cool even in the heat wave. Breakfast was fine and decent value but there are so many options within a 5 minute walk that we preferred to go out for better pastries and coffee. The coffee at breakfast wasn’t good - just a push button machine. A cafetière would have been much better. This was one of the main reasons we preferred not to have breakfast at the hotel. The location is perfect. Quiet, but close to everything in what is maybe the best area in Paris to stay. The staff were lovely throughout. Very friendly, genuine, polite and helpful. Overall, a nice hotel with a calm vibe and lovely staff. Just a few improvements and it would be even better.
We had a wonderful stay here. The location is perfect, quiet but close to lots of cafes, restaurants and stores in the heart of Montmartre, and the hotel is thoughtfully decorated with cute details that go with the literary theme (it may be a part of Best Western but it's still a unique boutique hotel). It was our first time in Paris and we were traveling with our 1 year old. The staff here was kind and accommodating to our special requests (extra bedding, storing food in the hotel fridge, getting us to the train station on time during rush hour). This was one of the few hotels we found with a king size bed which was a must for us. The AC is cold (there was a heat wave during our stay with temperatures over 30C/90F), the bed is very comfortable, and the shower and toilet are behind separate doors. The room was definitely smaller than it appeared in the picture with little floor space around the bed, but it was funcional with a big closet to store clothes and stow away luggage. I would definitely stay here again.
The location of this hotel is perfect to explore the Montmartre area. We had the apartment one night for our family of 3 and loved the space and the size of the bathroom. Due to a cancelled flight, we moved to 2 standard rooms for 1 night. Well-appointed, comfortable and clean. The staff was super accommodating and helped us quickly with our change of travel plans.
