This Hotel was a lovely surprise. I arrived in knowing the central location was fantastic. I was greeted by fantastic Reception staff who had me in my room and organised quickly and were able to give me some great local tips. My room was spacious and the kitchenette was unexpected and greatly appreciated. Refrigerator, microwave, stovetop, and dishwasher all included. This helped to keep costs down. The coffee machine was received with joy -yay! They have a hot drinks station downstairs, two different lounge areas, a breakfast room (I opted for no breakfast - I had the kitchen), luggage storage, and they even were giving everyone ice cones on one morning when it was quite hot. The St Germain restaurant precinct is right behind it and you are spoilt for choice of wonderful cafes and restaurants. Pont de Neuf was a 2 minute walk as was the Louvre. I'd 100% stay here again. Fabulous in every way.
I booked two nights at this hotel but left after only one night because the room was not acceptable. The reception itself was okay, but the check-in experience was made uncomfortable by a man in the lobby who repeatedly tried to convince me to join the hotel’s loyalty programme. He kept pressing the point even after I had clearly indicated I was not interested. The main problem was the room. There was a noticeable smell of mould, the carpet felt dirty and unpleasant, and I did not feel comfortable taking my shoes off at any point. The furniture was very worn, and there were signs of poor maintenance, including bubbling paint. The air conditioning also did not work, which made the room hot and uncomfortable. Breakfast was also disappointing. I did not find it to be a good experience and chose to go to a nearby café instead. After one night, I decided I could not stay for the second night and booked another hotel. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel.
I am sorry to leave a harsh review, especially because the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful during my stay. The location cannot be beat, and staying here may be worth it for that alone. It is situated in a very charming neighborhood that you can explore for hours, surrounded by unlimited great food options. You can easily walk to many major sites, including the Louvre, Notre Dame, and Sainte-Chapelle. However, I have to be honest about the accommodations. The hotel is very dated and worn, falling below the standards of even a basic discount chain. My room was grimy, with mold on the grout, dusty corners with cobwebs, and old, stained carpet. "Old and not very clean" is the most accurate description I can provide. The room also lacks basic modern amenities; for example, there are no outlets near the beds for charging devices or medical equipment like a CPAP machine. Additionally, there is no daily room refreshing, and the third-person bedding consists of a very low-quality pull-out couch. The main trade-off here is choosing between a world-class location and a room that is significantly overdue for a deep clean and renovation.
We had an outstanding stay at Citadines Saint-Germain-des-Prés Paris in early January 2026. The front desk staff handled a booking complication with professionalism, kindness, and efficiency, ensuring our comfort and a seamless stay in one room for the duration of our visit. We were especially impressed by the hotel’s integrity and professionalism when a family member accidentally left an important bag behind after checkout. The staff quickly secured the item and returned it to us after proper identification, with all contents intact. Exceptional service, prime location, thoughtful amenities, and a truly dedicated team. Highly recommended.
