I haven’t subscribed yet, but I want to say a big thank you to Clement, Jessy, their third college who was here today afternoon sorry for missing the name ☹️and everyone who works there. I contacted them two days ago by phone. They were very patient with me and provided me with all the information I needed. They are fluent in English as well. BIGGGG THANK YOU 🙏 Today is Friday, so I decided to visit unannounced. I met Jessy there at the end of the day. The place was very clean, and people were relaxing in the pool and sauna while others were working out. They weren't trying to sell me a subscription as much as they were trying to answer my questions with patience and a warm welcome. THEY didn't expect anything in return. (People saying stuff are rude !!! BIG NOT TRUE 🥸 ) Comments about the place being dirty, the service being bad, and the staff being rude were very shucky to me compared with reality! I made a sudden visit at the last working hour on the last working day of the week. The place was very clean, and all the classes were in progress. Everything was clean, even the distance from the pool to the changing area is very close without exaggeration saying that ( people have to cross the whole gym naked to go to change !!!!!!!) Thank you guys
This became our go-to gym for 3 months while living in Paris. It's central, newly renovated, and extremely well-equipped (both in quality and quantity). In terms of memberships, there are two things to note for anyone that is not from France (or Europe, for that matter): 1) Without a French or European bank account, it will be a little challenging to be registered for a membership. Luckily, Solène was very generous and helped us through the process 2) In order to cancel a membership, you must write and mail a letter to the gym cancelling in advance. This felt like a lot of work considering the post office is one street over, but this is standard practice in France. Thanks to Solène and Wellness Sport Club for 3 great months!
The gym is all underground, it’s very dark with intense spotlights so doesn’t create a nice ambiance. The renovations were done cheaply with little consideration or thought. The layout of the rooms is strange, with cardio machines in the corridors. The changing rooms have no amenities and no ventilation so it always smells. Hard to justify the price.
In Paris gym standards I would rate this four out of five, but in general I would rate it three out of five. I have been going for almost a month now and overall it is one of the closest alternatives to places like Virgin Active where I have trained in London and Milan. The recent renovation has helped a lot. The space looks fresh, the layout feels modern, and for Paris it is surprisingly spacious. The equipment is new with a good amount of variety, so from a training point of view it works very well. There are a few downsides that are hard to overlook. Even though the renovation was finished recently, you can still see quite a bit of dirt. Several mirrors and walls were clearly never cleaned properly after the work was completed. The locker room floors and toilets are the biggest issue, as they are regularly dusty with hair and general rubbish, which affects the experience every time. The spa area is a nice addition with a sauna, a steam room, and a small pool that is good for relaxing or light water exercises. The access is a bit awkward though since you have to walk through a busy hallway (where people are working out) in a towel instead of entering directly from the locker rooms. There is only one shower in the spa area and the showers in general need improvement. The water pressure is extremely low, you cannot control the temperature, and there is no soap or towel service. All in all this is a good gym with solid potential and one of the better options in Paris if you are looking for something closer to the Virgin Active experience. Better cleaning standards and a few practical upgrades would make a noticeable difference.
