You can feel the history in here. The decor and atmosphere are peak Parisienne. The food is simple fayre, well executed and reasonably priced. I had steak fridte with the shallot sauce, and my OH had the Toulouse sausage with mashed potatoes. Both were x excellent. We followed up with Camembert for him and ile flotante for me. Formidable! A carafe of wine for €. All very fair for a very good, very French (I think) lunch.
Spectacular art nouveau restaurant with elegant service and inexpensive menu. The long dining room of thin wooden furniture compliments the amazing ceiling and wall decorations of sculpted accents, paintings, and stained glass. I loved that the paintings were glazed and had raised outline elements to resemble stained glass. For lunch we had the leeks, cold green soup, and namesake warm savory broth with tiny round texture accents. For dessert the floating island was cool, refreshing, and delightful, while the namesake chocolate and raisin cake had a rich flavor. Reservations are recommended for lunch. For hot days it had air conditioning.
Friends recommended this restaurant and we found it to be perfect. Traditional French cuisine, great service, a wonderfully decorated place and good prices. Well worth the Metro trip!
We actually tried to queue to get in on a Thursday night but the queue was so long that there were 30 plus people infront of us, so we decided to come back the next day at noon for lunch and was able to be seated within 3 minutes. We came here with the recommendation from a Paris Taiwanese Instagram who recommended this place and it did not disappointed. I ordered everything that Giovanni recommended and it was delicious. It get quick pack around 1pm so do cone when they are opened around 11:45am and you will get seated right away. The interior is just beautiful.
Very tasty and absolutely beautiful. The place has a true old Paris atmosphere, it feels like stepping into another century. The food is excellent, everything is fresh and nicely presented. The staff is polite and works efficiently. Definitely a place I’d come back to.
