Rose, a Baguette, Onion Soup and Fries are my perfect Paris meal and Les Philosophes served it, perfectly. It was very busy when we went for lunch, but we were able to be seated inside. The staff is friendly and efficient.

Went at noon on a Friday and found an outside table straight away. Staff were patient and friendly (considering our broken-French). Got the duck confit and beef bourguignon and a carafe of the red wine of the month. Beef was very flavourful and tender. Duck was fall off the bone but the overall dish was a bit dry for my liking. Food came out very quickly so I do wonder if things are made to order vs. reheated. It can feel a bit claustrophobic but that's to be expected for the outdoor seats. I'd still recommend this place for a nice comfort meal

Had a really wonderful dinner here. The service is absolutely impeccable and the staff are very friendly. The waiter always checked in with us making sure the food was good and really made this a wonderful experience. The food is absolutely delicious and the portions are big. The atmosphere is very nice with a real French vibe. We had the traditional pâté and the onion soup for starters. The lamb and beef bourguignon for our mains. And for dessert crème brûlée and the espresso and chocolate cake. All extremely delicious. P.s. After 10 pm there is a €0.5 increase on every menu item which is displayed at the bottom of the menu in small letters.

Bit of an up and down experience here. All of my food was good however my fellow diners did not feel the same about their meals. My duck confit was tasty but both the steaks and beef bourguignon dishes were chewy and unsatisfying. The atmosphere was wonderful and classic Parisian with the outdoor dining which we loved. Whilst the service we received was great and personable, we did get overcharged for an extra main meal which we didn't order and only noticed when we had left. There were 4 of us and we copped a 350 euro bill, I think we could have done better for that price. Final verdict - Not dying to go back. Update - I went back today to rectify the bill and the staff were very helpful in ensuring the claims authenticity and compensating us for the additional salmon dish that was charged. Thus, I have adjusted the service rating accordingly. Xavier, I have left the receipt with your staff if you would like to examine its legitimacy.

Come for the onion soup, stay for the dessert! This is some hearty home cooking that leaves you happy and satisfied. A truly quintessential French meal where we had the best onion soup and beef tartare ever. We think about this meal often and will keep going back anytime we're in the city!
