Hidden in a back alley in the streets of Marais Le Trèsor offers typical french fare at reasonable prices in an idyllic Parisian setting. Steps away from the Seine and among a hive of evening activity, Le Trèsor is the perfect place to start a night out. Happy hour until 20:00 with a notable wine and cocktail menu included. In German, Tresor means "Safe" or "Vault". In French, it means "Treasure". Surely, you will find treasure here at Le Trèsor. Either in the various homemade creations on offer, or through the memories made with friends and loved ones. Recommended.
I’d never had aligot but ordered it based on a review and it is truly one of the most delicious things I’ve ever had. Absolutely stunning meal. The food is simple but beautifully executed. Can’t recommend enough. I had the sausage with aligot and my husband had the steak with bearnaise sauce and it was probably the best meal we had on our whole trip.
By the time we reached Rue du Trésor the sunlight was already fading. This was a narrow, dead-end pedestrian street I had identified myself from exploring Google Maps. I had marked it as a desirable location to have dinner because of the large number of restaurants along the short stretch of flat, polished cobblestones. It was even more atmospheric than I had anticipated and I was concerned we wouldn't be able to find a table because the street was obviously quite popular. It would have been better to have a reservation on a Friday evening but I hadn't wanted to lose our flexibility. A couple of places at the beginning of the street were obviously packed but Restaurant Le Trésor a little further in was surprisingly empty. The lack of clientele was actually concerning but since the reviews were good and we saw plenty of things on the menu that we liked we decided to take the table they offered us at the back of the restaurant. Le Trésor specialized in the cuisine of the Auvergne, a central region of France we had never visited and knew very little about. The dishes of the region emphasize pork, cheese, potatoes, and lentils but we mostly opted for lighter fare with the exception of the charcuterie board, which was excellent. We complemented that with escargots and marrow bones as well as shellfish from the Atlantic coast. As we worked our way through the dishes the restaurant began to fill until it was as crowded as the first ones we had encountered. I only heard French spoken at the tables around us, so I suspect the restaurant was a favorite of locals who eat a little later than the visitors. Our first dinner in Paris proved to be a resounding success.
A beautiful little restaurant tucked away in a quiet spot with lots of style and charm. Superb food, well priced, perfect service. My ouef moullieux was perfect.
We ordered starters, the œuf mollet frit and the os à moelle. The œuf mollet frit was nice thanks to the truffle cream below but the egg yolk was not very yolky and was slightly overcooked. The os à moelle was nice but the bread tasted like overnight bread and seems to be on the verge of dying! The more you eat the os à moelle the more I started to feel disgusted, not sure why :/ For the mains we ordered the saucisse d’Auvergne with aligot, the meat in the sausage was very good and fresh however it was not seasoned and was tasteless. The duck confit was however amazing! Both aligot was disappointing it was very pale compared to the ones I’ve tried before and felt less authentic. It lacks also a bit of seasoning, of butter and cheese tbh. We added half a bottle of San Pelegrino sparkling water and the total paid was 88€ which was really not a good value especially when you can find better typical french bistro such as Chantefable in the 20e arrondissement.
