I booked it for the location and didn't consider much else, although I did mess up and book near gare du i'est instead of gare du Nord. The rooms are in need of a refurbishment but they are acceptable. I assumed it was an error when the booking didn't state a fridge or kettle in the room, it was not. The room was very minimal. Staff were always friendly and polite with me and it was clean in my opinion. The hotel does have a sign saying no guests but they didn't seem to mind me having guests to my room. The rooms are not very sound proofed which isn't ideal. I personally prefer my hotels to not be too comfortable otherwise I tend to not go out, so it worked fine for that purpose.
You get what you pay for. This hotel is in a convenient part of town, with Gard du Nord and Gare de l'est easily accessible. However, that might be the only draw. The neighbourhood can be a bit sketchy at night, so do make sure you walk with another person if you can. As for the hotel itself, you have to hand your key to the lobby when you head out the door. They don't have extra keys, which is inconvenient. The first night, our hotel room didn't have a bathroom door, and the bathroom felt like it was in need of some love and updates. Thankfully the hotel staff were kind enough to give us another room for the remainder of our stay because of the door situation. The elevator is also extremely small, so that may be an issue for those with accessibility needs. The staff at the hotel did what they could, and tried their best to accommodate. However, the hotel itself is in dire need of upgrades
I wanted to write a review of this hotel because it pleasantly surprised me. Before arriving, I had read some reviews and honestly felt quite worried about what to expect. However, the room was clean and was cleaned very well every day. The bed was made daily and fresh towels were provided each day. The reception staff were friendly young people. Some spoke English very well, others a bit less fluently, but communication always worked and everything was understood. The hotel has a 24-hour front desk, so you can truly arrive at any time, even very late at night. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you 💚
