We took a risk eating here our last night in Paris with our 2 picky vegetarian kids, but I think we hit the jackpot! Tapas style made it easy to sample new things, and unlimited bread meant I knew the kids wouldnt go hungry. Everything was wonderful (somewhat elevated and creative but accessible) including the meat dishes the adults had. The server was charming. The atmosphere was cozy. Everyone was happy. A great final meal
The food was just incredible. I love food that is interesting, that is surprising. This was just that. Every dish is an artwork of taste and texture. I won't forget the beetroot tartar. It looks like a cake and in of itself that was surprising, but the taste was another level. Extraordinary. Loved it and can't wait to come back.
“American as apple pie” has a new inferior meaning after this place. American here. We stopped here for lunch and it was great! It was actually some of the best service we had in Paris. Basically, the restaurant picks your meal with a vegetarian option. I asked for a good local beer and the server nailed it. Im surprised how good French beer is. All three courses were great. My kid says he hates potato salad, but the cold potato appetizer (whatever it was) was great. The chicken pasta main course was solid. The apple pie was the best apple pie I’ve ever had. I couldn’t help but leave the server 20 euros.
Tapas on Monday nights! We tried 3 different dishes and they were delicious! Bartender/server added to the experience with his expert wine pairing with our dishes.
We have always made a point of visiting Jackpot at least twice when we visit Paris as it’s fast become one of our favourite places to eat there. It literally just around the corner from Transparent Marais which is our holiday apartment so it is so handy. We love the small plates way of eating and theirs is a mix of French and other influences. We particularly love the lentil Dhal, the beetroot tarts ration and the beef bourguignon is fabulous. The desert we are always hopeful for is the meringue sphere, which is so good- no matter what the filling is! You must reserve as it’s just so popular.
