A wonderful solo dinner experience I came alone for dinner and was seated at the bar, where I ordered the tasting menu with the alcohol pairing. It was such a lovely experience — I ended up eating for about 2.5 hours, just enjoying every moment. I discovered that foie gras isn't really my thing, but I absolutely loved the experience of trying it and having each dish explained to me as it was served. It made the whole evening feel special and personal. The bartender — Alexij, I think? (sorry if I got the name wrong!) — was incredibly kind, polite, and interesting to talk to. He gave me plenty of great recommendations for Paris and the surrounding areas, and I actually went to a bar he suggested afterwards — and it turned out to be the best one of my trip. I might not come back for the full tasting menu again, but I will definitely return for the ravioli. Lovely ambiance, great service, and a truly memorable evening. Thank you!
I visited this restaurant after several locals recommended it as one of the best places in Paris for foie gras, and it definitely lived up to the reputation. We ordered the Burgundy escargots, frog legs, a foie gras platter, and foie gras carpaccio. The frog legs were interesting to try but weren’t my favorite. However, the escargots and both foie gras dishes were excellent—rich, smooth, and full of flavor. I personally preferred the foie gras without the honey, as it let the natural taste shine through. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was warm and authentic, and it’s a great place to experience classic French cuisine. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Paris!
Definitely a must go place when visiting Paris. The resteraunt is very much centred around duck liver and one of the only restraints I’ve seen in Paris finally do pan seared duck liver. High quality food and very tasty
We had a very good experience at Le Comptoir de la Gastronomie. Although the first staff member who served us was not particularly warm, the rest of the team was very helpful, friendly, and gave good recommendations. The food was excellent, especially the foie gras, which was the highlight of the meal. The location is also very convenient, making it an easy choice for visitors exploring the area. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant, especially to tourists who enjoy foie gras and want a memorable meal in Paris.
We had a couple of options for lunch, but decided to come here to enjoy some more French cuisine. After we were done with the Louvre, we made our way over here. It was about a 15 min walk and we were able to visit a couple spots on the itinerary along the way. What caught my eye was the duck foie gras ravioli and I was dead set on ordering that. We also got a dish of escargot because you just have to get that when in France. The last dish that we shared was the gourmande salad, which comes with a variety of duck meat (duck foie gras, smoked duck breast, gizzards, duck leg). The duck foie gras ravioli was so good and full of truffle flavor, I would definitely make sure to order this dish here! I enjoyed the escargot as well, it had an additional pesto flavor to it. It was also nice to try all the different duck meats alongside some greens. Overall, they're a great restaurant with some quality dishes, definitely make sure to dine here and enjoy some classic French cuisine.
