The mussels we had were terribly tiny - the size of the shells was fine but the actual mussels inside seemed like they were starved! Seemed like too much lemon was added to the sauce, giving it an unpleasantly bitter taste. The staff kept changing the music tracks which was also distracting. Now the good / decent part: we also had frog legs, onion soup and duck parmentier, which were good. Particularly the duck parmentier had good amount of duck meat and a rich taste of duck. Just avoid the mussels, then you should enjoy a decent meal here.
Nice place with friendly helpful staff. Ordered the steak and fries. Asked for medium but steak was more rare, which may have been deliberate as it was still quite chewy. The peppercorn sauce was delicious but the best were the chips. Crispy on the outside amd soft and buttery on the inside. Well seasoned too. 4 stars because of the chips and sauce
Dishes were a hit and miss. Some were good, decent, others not so. Escargots were not bad but really small. Service was ok, they asked for tips at the end, was it because we were with some Americans? Living in France for several years and this was one of the very few restaurants that asked us for tips.
Enjoyed the dining experience and service. However, the reviews about the food is a bit overhyped. The escargot and frog legs were really good I highly recommend. However the steak and duck breast was uncomfortably too chewy even though it was cooked perfectly as requested. The fries were quite plain and wrinkly, not crispy at all, possibly microwaved. Would not recommend these two dishes. Recommend making a booking as it was quite busy.
Our go-to spot in Paris – we come back every single time! It has become a tradition for us: no visit to Paris is complete without a meal at L'Anvers du Décor. It is simply a safe bet for authentic French cuisine right at the foot of Montmartre. The food is consistently excellent. Their escargots are some of the best we've had, and the onion soup is a classic must-try. We also highly recommend the oysters and the ribeye steak (entrecôte), which is always cooked to perfection. If you want a reliable, delicious French meal in a lovely setting, this is the place. See you next time!
