Tour Description

The tour departs from your Paris hotel at 7:30 AM. Enjoy a 3-hour drive (240 km) to the Loire Valley in an air-conditioned Mercedes minivan, with a rest stop en route. Your guide will provide context on the region's history connected to its castles.

From 11:00 to 12:30, explore Château de Chenonceau and its Renaissance gardens. Learn about the castle’s construction and its notable female patrons, including Catherine de Medici. A brochure detailing each room is provided.

At 12:30, travel 20 minutes to Amboise where you have a lunch break from 13:00 to 14:00. Numerous restaurants and cafes are available, and table reservations can be made on request.

From 14:00 to 15:30, visit Château Royal d'Amboise with a guide and use an interactive Histopad videoguide. Discover the castle’s transition from Gothic to Renaissance architecture, its royal history, and Leonardo da Vinci’s tomb in the Saint Hubert Chapel.

At 15:40, visit a local family winery for a guided wine tasting of seven local wines. Learn about traditional winemaking techniques that have been preserved for centuries.

From 16:30 to 18:00, tour Clos Lucé, Leonardo da Vinci’s residence near Château d'Amboise. Explore the museum dedicated to his life and work. This site was named one of the top 100 destinations to explore by Time magazine in 2021.

Depart for Paris at 18:00 with an estimated arrival around 21:00 for hotel drop-off.
