Description
On June 6th, 1944, the largest seaborne invasion in history took place. Allied troops faced fierce resistance from German forces entrenched along Normandy’s coast. More than 14,000 Canadian soldiers landed or parachuted into France that day. Despite the odds, they fought bravely and contributed to the success of the Normandy campaign.
This guided tour visits several historical landmarks central to these events. Walk on Juno Beach, where Canadian troops landed in 1944, and visit the Juno Beach Centre, the most comprehensive museum dedicated to the Canadian landings.
You will also visit the Canadian Cemetery at Beny-sur-Mer, reflecting on the fallen soldiers. The tour includes a stop at 'Hell's Corner,' the furthest inland advance of Canadian troops on D-Day, located five miles from Caen. Additionally, see Abbey d'Ardenne, a former Nazi headquarters.
Whether you are deeply interested in military history or simply want to understand the significance of D-Day, this tour offers valuable insights into the courage and events that shaped history.
