We came to Bistro des Vosges specifically to try the aligot, so naturally we were curious to see whether this famous combination of mashed potatoes and melted cheese would live up to the hype. It looked wonderfully rich and comforting, but, unfortunately, the taste didn’t quite match my expectations. The sausages served with the aligot were a different story: they were absolutely delicious, even if they weren’t particularly impressive to look at. The onion soup and duck leg were also excellent and, overall, the food was very enjoyable. The service was friendly and attentive, and we had a pleasant time at the restaurant. Unfortunately, there was one small issue that affected my overall impression. I happened to keep the receipt and, a few hours after leaving, noticed that we had been charged for two large draft beers even though we had ordered small ones. I’m sure this could easily have been sorted out had we checked the bill before leaving, so I wouldn’t consider it a major issue. Still, it’s worth taking a quick look at your receipt before you go. Overall, Bistro des Vosges is a pleasant place with good food, friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. I would have happily given it an excellent rating if it weren’t for the billing mix-up.
This is the best restaurant i’ve ever visited in paris!!! The vibe was amazing and staff were absolutely friendly ❤️ Also the food was so delicious!! I highly recommend the onion soup and mashed potatoes! The dessert was also yummy!! What a restaurant! The prices are reasonable too
This was our first meal in Paris and boy we were not disappointed. We had heard great things about this bistro and we’re excited to dine in there. The onion soup is legendary. Everything was wonderful and our server, Aymeric, was helpful, suggesting different options and very patient with us. We had the meal of a lifetime, absolutely delicious. From our escargot and onion soup to our sorbet, tres bien! Merci beaucoup!
Picked this place based on google search and will say it was a great choice! I love how the service was quick and efficient without wasting any time. Got their popular french onion soup which was superb, though a bit more cheese would have been nice. Loved every bite of the decadent onions and shredded bread blending well with the soup. The flavour was really deep and redolent compared to my previous experiences with this dish. For the mains I ordered the duck confit and it was probably the best I've ever had. The skin on the duck was crisp and very flavourful. The meat itself was very juicy; it was accompanied with mashed potatoes and salad which made it overall a very hearty dish. The portions were way better than what I've had before in the US. For the dessert, I got the Tarte Tatin, and this was good if not the best. I was hoping to experience some light crisp on the tart but couldn't...still the flavours were not bad, kinda reminiscent of the apple strudel. Overall a great choice for a classic french meal!
The best authentic restaurant I’ve been to in Paris- you must come here!!! The staff are passionate about their restaurant and it shows, the food and ambience are amazing too. The food… DELICIOUS! The duck confit was truly magnificent, it did indeed fall off the bone, an experience like never before. The escargot and french onion soup was authentic and luxurious and the lamp chop was soft and fell off the bone. They paired us with some red wine and lots of bread. Would 100% recommend coming here rather than a famous spot down the road.
