Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet
Paris
Recenzje
Hope you have a sweet tooth because France’s finest confectionery and chocolate makers have stands here. It reminds me of Harrod’s food hall in London or Penn Station on NY. You can get the giant croissant, or fine market items like foie gras, truffles and wine. Worth a look. Come in the morning. The smell of fresh pastries is mind blowing.
This was by far the most interesting section of Galeries Lafayette for me. The variety on offer is incredible, with something to suit every taste and every meal of the day. In addition to the food counters and restaurants, you’ll also find a huge selection of culinary products, from spices and gourmet ingredients to delicatessen items and speciality foods. It quickly became my favourite area within Galeries Lafayette. The aromas, atmosphere, and overall experience are simply outstanding. To be honest, it’s incredibly difficult to leave without buying something or stopping for a bite to eat.
Whenever I visit Paris, I find myself returning here—sometimes to pick up a new set of tableware or a unique cup, but mostly because the experience is so seamless. What keeps me coming back is how perfectly curated the selection is; you can take in a vast array of high-quality products at a glance without feeling overwhelmed. The layout is designed for genuine comfort, allowing you to explore a diverse range of culinary delights and handle tax-free shopping all in one place. It makes the logistics of shopping feel effortless. I was also impressed by the staff; every individual I encountered was kind and attentive. A practical note for fellow travelers: the restrooms on the 3rd floor are impeccably clean and well-maintained. The basement food hall, in particular, is a space where I always want to linger a little longer. If you are someone who truly appreciates food and ingredients, do not miss this place. It remains one of the finest spots in the city.
Fantastic stop at Galeries Lafayette Gourmet. We had charcuterie, cheese and a glass of wine – all excellent quality, generous portions and nicely presented. The counters have a great selection, from properly aged jamón to really characterful French cheeses, so it’s easy to turn it into a small tasting. It’s busy and a bit noisy, but still a nice break from shopping and the prices are fair for the quality and location. Insider tip: don’t queue at the main entrance – there’s a side entrance to the food hall about 50 metres from the line where you can usually walk straight in.
