Nice dim lit lounge atmosphere- service without a hitch with our French phraseology and excellent English on the staff’s part - merci beaucoup - ginormous wine selection by glass and by the bottle from the wine tome - we chose a special bottle and enjoyed 2 plates each and unfortunately couldn’t find space within to split a beautiful souffle which came out of the kitchen with high frequency. Our dishes were tasty and free of confusing counterpoints or unnecessary complexities. The baby leeks were beautifully plated and were plentiful and remained the primary focus as did the mackerel in its dish. The crispy lamb encrusted was rich and counterpointed by a light root vegetable puree and roasted whole carrots and parsnips. Kudos to the chef for bringing lightness and flavor and volume to the vegetable component of this dish. The tourte was rich and deep in aromas and flavors and textures - a real treat. Wine service professional and with appropriate stemware. Our richly bodied champagne was served in a delicately thin Lehmann medium sized burgundy shaped balloon as it should be served without any need to ask. An easy redo. Bravo.
Fantastic wine list of course. Great food and great wine. Our waiter Enzo was super nice. There were a few times when we felt unattended, e.g. waiting 10 minutes multiple times for someone to take our order for our next glasses of wine or not seeing anybody when leaving. Overall, the service was good but not excellent. Side observation: Probably a weird coincidence, but there were 3 tables with Asian patrons in the restaurant - all were seated as close as possible to the door. The maître d’hôtel refused to move any of them.
Amazing Bistro. I love the Service and the Wine selection. To start Go for Foie Gras and the Poached Egg. Unbelievable. Fish or meat for Main course made to perfection
Our experience at this restaurant was, unfortunately, not particularly pleasant. I had booked more than a month in advance, so I had certain expectations regarding the service. Upon arrival, we were first shown a table right by the entrance, in an area with constant foot traffic and little privacy. I asked if it was possible to sit in the back room, which appeared calmer and more suitable for reservations, but this was not immediately accommodated. We were then seated at another table, which had a crutch resting on it from the neighboring guests. There were several other empty tables available in the same room, as well as in another room, so this felt quite inappropriate. What was more surprising was that the staff made no effort to address the situation or ask the other guests to move the crutch. I had to explicitly ask to change tables, as I found it rather discourteous. This unusual start unfortunately set the tone for the rest of the evening. The sommelier seemed somewhat inexperienced, and communication was difficult as his English was quite limited, which is surprising for a restaurant of this level. My partner does not speak French, and the interaction became unnecessarily complicated, to the point that he preferred to choose the wine without much guidance. Throughout the dinner, the service felt distant and slightly uncomfortable, as if the staff were hesitant to approach our table. On a positive note, the wine list is excellent and definitely a highlight. The food is well executed, but ultimately quite boring. It is clearly a deliberate choice to focus on classic Parisian dishes, which is perfectly fine, but this kind of format really needs to be supported by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, that was missing. Overall, the service felt cold, inattentive, and at times careless. With a more thoughtful and welcoming approach this place could be a pleasant restaurant, but as it stands, the experience did not live up to expectations.
Fine French cuisine at Les 110 Taillevent. Very attentive service and excellent wine recommendations. Decor is chic, noise is hushed and food fantastic. Great place to sample the best in Paris.
